Now in Bejing. We just visited the Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Although the forbidden city was very impressive, the square meant more to me. I remember the images of the square very well in 1989, the student protest after the death of Hu Yaobang. Of course, there was nothing there that could remind one of these protests. There were two giant (!) television screens with Morricone like strings music and warm images of China.
Today no concerts or workshops. The whole day off. We had a lunch with the Dutch cultural attachée and tonight we will have some real Peking Duck, which I love, at least, in the Amsterdam version!
